Dance Movement Therapy is a psychotherapeutic tool used to promote motor, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual integration of an individual. As a form of expressive therapy DMT looks at the correlation between body, mind and beyond.

Through this workshop, Bhumi intends to bring into life various healing modalities, meditations and therapies using combinations of dance and other expressive art forms.

The Embodying Movement workshop is designed to give one a glimpse into the functioning of one’s mind and body in a very experiential, meditative, intimate yet fun manner. The participant gets the opportunity to meet, explore and befriend themselves and their bodies, to harmonize, balance and release the energy and connect to their body in a deeper loving way. The workshop also enables the participants to uncover the hidden patterns and belief systems that govern their behaviour and relationships and gently let them go. A whole new dimension of resolution of conflict in a creative way is openned up. Eventually and more importantly the participant is guided towards meeting silence and stillness through movement. To re-discover dance as that which is born from rest and peace is our highest prayer.

Bhumi is a Dance Movement Therapist, facilitator and founder at Samarpan. Through her workshops and retreats she facilitates an authentic, vulnerable and simple inner investigation using various combinations of dance, movement, conversations, music and other expressive art forms. The workshops are a spontaneous sharing of her expertise in dance movement therapy, integrating it with her exploration and experience in meditation, psychology, counselling, healing and therapy. Her deepest prayer is that people do not limit dance to mere steps, techniques, routines and styles but experience it as a means of diving within and making friendship with themselves and their world.
