THE MOVING RELATIONSHIP PARTNERING WORKSHOP WITH STICKS USED AS TOOLS TO CREATE A RELATIONSHIP IN MOVEMENT WITH ONE OR MORE PARTNERS.
The stick allows us to connect with our partner and to establish immediately a moving relationship, while at the same time developing a strong awareness of our own body moving in space. Mutually supporting and following each other’s movements we will learn to decipher the cues that we give and receive which are telling us when to lead or to follow. The goal is to find the balance between guiding and being guided, allowing the role of leadership to shift at any time.
The work with the stick is based on improvisation and gives to the movers the opportunity to execute an instantaneous composition in space. Playing with the distance between the bodies, we will share intimacy and complicity and be dealing with the questions: distance and space can be manipulated to create an intention towards my partner?
An emotional state? A narrative leitmotiv?
