The Room of Absence and Lost Desires

Theater
Performance/Show

Sat, 26 Aug 2017 7:00pm - 8:00pm

The performance is an exploration of desire and loss, inspired by themes and images from Tagore’s “The Hungry Stones” and Faiz’s “A Prison Evening”.

It imagines two archetypal beings, a man, and a woman, in the same place, each seeking in the other a reflection, an answering voice, yet separated by an unbridgeable distance.

Living out their longings, their thirst, their moments of tenderness, their darkest nightmares. Through stories of blood and fire, sword and muslin, flickering lamps and the darkness of dungeons, and the daily poetry of pots and pans, milk and paper bills, and toilet seats.
