Anxiety! Curiosity! Fear! Annoyance! Desire! Aspiration! Rage! Frustration! Grief! Bliss!

If you are human, chances are you have experienced these at some point of time.
Regardless of what you do – engineering, product management, design, theatre, teaching infants or researching on nuclear physics – you work with human beings. And that means you experience emotions, sensations, feelings and more.

What can theatre, expressive movement and the very powerful and ancient Indian psychological framework of rasaa teach us about our emotions, and how to embody them? How can we integrate them in a wholesome way, in order to live more complete and fulfilling lives?

Come find out more at this intensive one day experiential workshop.

Details:
Human emotions are one of the most widely explored themes today. While western frameworks such as emotional intelligence and social and emotional learning are of fairly recent vintage, here in India we’ve been exploring them for a while longer – two thousand years to be precise. The Natyashatra, the ancient treatise on aesthetics, laid out the theory of rasa, which forms the basis of all Indian performance traditions, and ultimately offers a profound framework of understanding life itself.

In this introductory session on the navarasaas, the nine cardinal emotions, Arka will be facilitating a space that integrates breath, embodied self awareness, work with all five senses, theatre, expressive movement, yoga, dialogues and contemplation, to take us on a visceral journey through our inner emotional geography, and to understand present day themes such as leadership, authenticity, integrating the masculine and feminine,
presence and more.
