About the Workshop:

An immersive workshop in introducing elements of voice culture, melodic, rhythmic and compositional practices through the traditional Dhrupad form of music.

About the Facilitator:

Sajan Sankaran, Dhrupad vocalist and scholar. Sajan is a full time Dhrupad student at the Gundecha Brothers Gurukul since 2013. He is driven by a quest for understanding in depth the meaning of artistic expressions in any medium. He is especially focused on the Dhrupad form, exploring its modes of interaction and impact with the human mind-body consciousness. Ramesh Chandra Joshi will be accompanying them on the Pakhawaj the traditional percussion instrument used in Dhrupad.
