Discovery of Musicality – A Soundshop for Children & Parents
An improvisation based workshop to Awaken Creative Expression in Children (and Parents)
16th February
Sunday
10.00 am – 11.30 am
Rs. 1000 per child
Rs. 300 per accompanying adult.

We invite you to awaken creative expression in children with simple and effective methods:
– Expression of the body according to the musicality using instruments like Djembe, Flute and more
– Develop personal listening and listening to others with the help of games with partners
– Awareness of one’s body and the space around it.
– Space of spontaneous creation; improvisation in the moment.
– Highlight the interaction between multiple sounds, melodies and rhythms with the expression of different parts of the body.

Discovery of Musicality:
Help your child discover his abilities both physically (movements of the feet, hands and the whole body) and internally (feeling vibrations and harmonics of instruments and his own voice).
It is also learning how to share in a group, to know how to “harmonise” with others to produce an overall melody.
Ultimately, it is an awakening of the senses, a development of listening skills, expression and co-ordination.

Method:
Mimicry: Using body and sound mimicking the sounds found in nature, elements (earth, water, fire, air, space) and animals

Gestures: Simple gestures and basic sounds that produce a rhythmic and melodic coherence

Visualisation and listening

Relaxation time: Soft soothing music using instruments such as Tibetan bowls, African harp (kora) and kalimbas (thumb piano).

Match the beat: Work on the tempo (slow/ fast), the shades (strong/ soft) and the balance of the body.

Conclusion
It is an opportunity to enrich the imagination and artistic openness of children and also allow them an even more curious look at their abilities and the world around them and for parents to take this journey with them and support them.
