This 9-hour intensive, spread over three days, intends to take its participants through the nitty gritty’s of the work involved in the management of a dance production. The class includes theoretical sessions and group activities to acquaint participants with how dance productions of different scales can be efficiently managed.

The sessions provide a detailed and focused description of the professional skills that a successful dance concert or dance organization is likely to rely on.

Dancer, arts manager, and curator, Masoom Parmar hails from a family of musicians. He started training in Bharatanatyam at the tender age of six and gained a Visharada degree in the dance form from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

M, with his linguist and interpersonal skills, has an uncanny ability to track down and build amiable professional relationships with dancers and art connoisseurs.

He has gained expertise as an arts manager through his four years of association with the Nritarutya – Contemporary Indian Dance Company led by Mayuri Upadhya. He has been instrumental in the production of events such as ‘Madhushala’ for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th birthday celebrations; ‘Madhur Milan’ for Smt. Kokilaben Ambani’s 80th birthday celebrations; ‘Make in India – Opening Ceremony’ at Hanover Messe, Germany and Mumbai; The Dewarists Season 3 Finale; Bollywood movie Mirzya directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra; ‘Mughal-E-Azam: Live Musical Play’ directed by Feroz Abbas Khan; the NH7 festival with the The Raghu Dixit Project; and the Serendipity Arts Festival.

M currently manages productions while pursuing his passion for dance through teaching, choreographing and performing.
