The City of the Sun is an ode to dance. Dancers in The City of the Sun are expressing dance – as an expression, as a modality of moving towards somebody, or bringing something forth. Dance is not so much about interpretation of established capacities, but it is very much about inventing ways of seeing.
Dance in The City of the Sun carries the opportunity to pass agency from the subject to dance itself. To dance in this respect implies the possibility to learn from dance, instead of learning how to dance.
The beautiful, passionate, strange, crazy and weird dancers are, through the collections of extraordinary dance styles, fashion, political ideas etc. learning about each other from each other. Dance in the City of the Sun is learning something about the world.
